About this artwork

Applause was released in 2006 and also used in Banksy's "Barely Legal"exhibition. We can see a military bomber and two men standing in front of it. One of the men holds up a sign with the word "APPLAUSE." It causes an absurd scene where the viewer is expected to applaud warfare. It's clear that this is Banksy's way of commenting on how the media trivialises war and the suffering it causes.
